What is a Metallic Floor?
Metallic epoxy is a special multi-layered epoxy floor coating system that incorporates the use of a metallic additive mixed into a clear epoxy coating to create exotic effects. This metallic powder continues to move through the epoxy as it cures creating the lava flow or pearlescent design. Multiple colors may be added to create hundreds of designs.
Keep in mind that no two metallic floors are exactly the same.
How is a Metallic Floor installed?
Step 1: Grind
While hooked up to an industrial vacuum, we use a diamond bladed machine grinder to achieve the perfect profile for our epoxy base to bond to.
Step 2: Patch
We repair any cracks or divots. A "seamless" can also be achieved with a semi-rigid polyurea joint filler.
Step 3: Base Coat
We apply a pigmented epoxy base coat.
Step 4: Pour
With the desired color(s) we begin the pouring and design process.
Step 6: Seal
The finishing touch. We use a high gloss or matte polyurea top coat to seal everything in.
***A non slip additive may be broadcasted for extra grip upon request***
